| In late September, NetBSD developer Elad Efrat quickly organized a community "bugathon" for the weekend of Sept. 23 and 24. In an email to NetBSD-announce, he said "we ... started looking for PRs we knew how to deal with; slowly more people came aboard, and we ended up brainstorming solutions to various problems, solving them as we went. The word spread quite fast and we suddenly had a few users helping us with the work as well." |

| n late 2006 and in January 2007, Matt Dillon implemented his vision of a virtual kernel in DragonFly. Details are in the vkernel(7) manual page which includes how to setup the filesystem, compile the vkernel, enable it, setup networking, and how to run the virtual kernel. |

| Puget Sound Technology, an open source technical service provider, is teaching a BSD Unix system administration course, April 22 - 25, 2008, in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. The course will focus on the BSD Certification Group's BSDA (BSD "Associate") Certification exam objectives. It will cover standard Unix and Linux administration skills using the DragonFly, FreeBSD, NetBSD and OpenBSD operating systems. |

| Yesterday, the BSD Certification Group, Inc., announced its first certified BSD Associates (BSDA). The BSDA certification, which began development in late 2006, was officially launched in February 2008. The BSDA certification measures common skills needed by entry-level BSD Unix system administrators. |

Znana i uznana dystrybucja o nazwie Debian wchodzi na drogę rozwoju jako uniwersalny system operacyjny. Obok jądra Linuksa będzie można także używać jądra FreeBSD. Oficjalnie jądro FreeBSD zostało już dołączone do dystrybucji.
Jak w sobotę ogłosił zespół Debiana również porty FreeBSD zostały dołączone do wersji rozwojowej Debiana. Po raz pierwszy wolna dystrybucja oficjalnie obok jądra Linuksa wspiera obce jądro.
